Analysis

This resolution authorizes the proper City officers to execute Quit Claim Deed document (QCD-2887 and QCD-2888) conveying the combined sewers located in vacated South 14th Street and vacated South 15th Place between West Harrison Avenue and the Kinnickinnic River, in the 12th Aldermanic District. The sewer is being conveyed because it is no longer needed for public use.

 

Body

Whereas, The City constructed a 15-inch diameter combined sewer in South 14th Street in 1992 and a 15-inch diameter combined sewer in South 15th Place in 2008, both between West Harrison Avenue and the Kinnickinnic River; and

 

Whereas, Said South 14th Street and South 15th Place were vacated on May 30, 2018 by Common Council File number 160614; and

 

Whereas, The lands are now owned by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD); and

 

Whereas, Said sewers will no longer serve the interest of the City; and

 

Whereas, MMSD has agreed to accept ownership of said sewers; now, therefore be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers, including the DPW Commissioner, are hereby authorized: (i) to sign the Quit Claim Deed documents (QCD-2887 and QCD-2888), in the form and substance submitted to this file (or in substantially the same form and substance as submitted, and to effectuate the intent of this resolution); and (ii) to cause the same to be recorded in the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds Office.
