Resolution relative to the acceptance and funding of the 2019 Lead Detection Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the 2019 Lead Detection Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in the amount of $250,489 provided by the grantor. The purpose of the grant is to assure children that are lead poisoned are identified early and receive the interventions needed for health child development.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the 2019 Lead Detection Grant for early identification of lead poisoned children; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/19 to 12/31/19 would cost $250,489 provided by grantor and; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2019 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled 2019 Lead Detection Grant:
