Title

Resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City construction cost estimated to be $10,293,885.66 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $10,749,885.66.

Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $10,293,885.66.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $10,749,885.66.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

2nd Aldermanic District

 

W. Hampton Ave. - A point west of W. Lincoln Creek Dr. to a point east of W. Lincoln Creek Dr. (SM495180032) File Number 180160:  Relaying storm sewer.  (Nonassessable sewer maintenance relay fund - $123,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $135,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

W. Lincoln Creek Dr. - W. Armitage Ave. to W. Hampton Ave. (SM494180020) File Number 180160: Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $94,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $106,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

W. Hampton Ave. --  Bridge over Lincoln Creek (BR100180106) File Number 151420:  Rehabilitation of 3 span fixed bridge and approaches.  (City Share Non-assessable Structure Fund -- $2,300,000). The total estimated cost for this project, including the requested amount is $2,500,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

N. Jackson St. - E. Mason St. to E. Wells St. (SM495160082) File Number 170143: (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $175,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $313,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

6th Aldermanic District

 

W. Concordia Ave. - N. 12th St. to N. 17th St. (SM495180021) File Number 180399: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $700,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $720,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

N. Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. - 40’ north of W. Lloyd St. to W. Garfield St.  (SM495180025)  File Number 180030: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $122,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $134,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

S. 35th St. - Bridge over Kinnickinnic River (BR320141401) File Number 140427:  Rehabilitation of 3 span fixed steel girder bridge and approaches.

Grantor Non-Reimbursable Paving Fund -- $301,746.85 

Grantor Reimbursable Paving Fund -- $33,192.15 

City Share Nonassessable Paving Fund -- $115,298.56

Grantor Non-Reimbursable Structure Fund -- $725,842.34

Grantor Reimbursable Structure Fund-- $79,842.66

City Share Nonassessable Structure Fund $222,963.10

These funds are to be transferred to the construction account BR3201414XX/ST3201414XX (2100-00-70).

Dakota St. - S. 11th St. to S. 16th St.  (SM494180026)  File Number 170392: Installing new storm sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $4,441,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $4,461,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

15th Aldermanic District

W. Vine St. - N. 29th St. to N. 30th St. (SM495180020) File Number 171854: Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $103,000

The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $115,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

W. Vine St. - N. 32nd St. to 34th St.  (SM495180031) File Number 180160: Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $442,000

The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $457,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

N. 40th St. - W. Wright St. to W. Clarke St. (SM494180022) File Number 180160:  Relaying storm sewer and relaying combined sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $315,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $330,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
