Whereas, The Milwaukee Historic Preservation Ordinance, s. 320-21 of the Code of Ordinances, provides that historic sites, structures and districts may be designated by the Common Council upon the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission; and
Whereas, The Historic Preservation Commission, at its September 4, 2018 meeting, by a unanimous vote of five (5) ayes and one (1) excused, recommended expanding the boundaries of the North Point North Historic District to include a portion of the property addressed as 2320 North Lake Drive, located along the west side of North Terrace Avenue and south of the property located at 2411 North Terrace Avenue; and
Whereas, This expansion fulfills the following criterion set forth in s. 320-21-8:
e-8. Its relationship to other distinctive areas which are eligible for preservation according to a plan based on a historic, cultural or architectural motif
; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the expansion of the North Point North Historic district is approved with the amended boundaries picking up a parcel on the west side of Terrace Avenue, the dimensions in total being 219.17 feet along Terrace Avenue, 142 feet along the north/northeast line, 219.44 feet along the west line and 142 feet along the south line. Said parcel being located immediately south of the property at 2411-2415 North Terrace Avenue. This parcel is also identified as CSM file number 180632 and open space buffer lot file number 180584 and consists of three lots and an open space buffer. 2381 North Terrace Avenue is Certified Survey Map No. 9084 in SE & SW ¼ SECS 15-7-22, LOT 4; 2387 North Terrace Avenue is Certified Survey Map No. 9084 in SE & SW ¼ SECS 15-7-22, Lot 3 and 2409 North Terrace Avenue is Certified Survey Map No. 9084 in SE & SW ¼ SECS 15-7-22, Lot 2.
The Preservation Guidelines pursuant to the Historic Designation Study Report, a copy of which is attached to this file, shall apply to this site and is adopted by the Common Council as part of this file.
