Title
Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Project Agreement titled ”State/Municipal Agreement for a State-Let Highway Project” between the City of Milwaukee and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the wall and roof repairs of the City owned portion of the Kilbourn Tunnels with 100 percent local funds for construction costs.
Analysis
This Resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the wall and roof repairs to the City owned portion of the Kilbourn Tunnels, also known as the Kilbourn Avenue I-43 northbound entrance and exit ramps. The Project Agreement provides for 100 percent local funds for construction on the City owned portion of the project, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation would execute the contract and provide inspection. The total estimated cost for the project is $5,565,000 of which $805,000 is the City of Milwaukee’s Share for the City owned portion of the Tunnels and $4,760,000 is the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s share for the State owned portion of the Tunnels.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Project Agreement associated with the repairs of the wall and roof of the City owned portion of the Kilbourn tunnels with 100 percent local cost for construction, a copy of which is attached to Common Council File Number 180391 and incorporated in this resolution as though set forth therein in full.
