Substitute resolution authorizing acceptance and funding of a Save Our Streets Task Force grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a Save Our Streets Task Force grant from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the amount of $35,000. The purpose of this grant is to fund overtime expenses necessary for assistance to the FBI in detection, investigation, and prosecution of crimes against the United States.
Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for a Save Our Streets Task Force grant from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/1/16 to 9/30/17 would cost $35,000, of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department is authorized to accept this grant without further approval unless its terms change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2016 Special Revenue-Grant
and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled: Save Our Streets Task Force:

2. Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amounts required under the grant agreement; and, be it

1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the project budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
