Analysis

This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to MillerCoors or their contractor allowing them to occupy two traffic lanes of State Street east of North 41^st Street.

Body

Whereas, MillerCoors needs access to State for repair of their underground tunnel located east of 41^st Street; and

Whereas, The repairs to the underground tunnel require excavation of State Street to access the structure; and

Whereas, MillerCoors has requested to occupy two traffic lanes at a time staging the occupancy, excavation, and repairs to allow for one lane of traffic in each direction, east and west, beginning November 1, 2017 through April 30, 2018; and

Whereas, MillerCoors or their contractor will be responsible to contact all affected property owners and businesses informing them of the closure and the affected dates; and

Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the width of the right of way while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to issue an occupancy permit to MllerCoors or their contractor allowing them to occupy two traffic lanes of State Street east of North 41^st Street with a staged closure beginning November 1, 2017 to April 30, 2018.
