Substitute resolution relative to the acceptance and funding of the 2017-18 Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) - Building and Strengthening Epidemiology, Laboratory and Health Information Systems Capacity grant from the Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health(DHS/DPH).
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity - Building and Strengthening Epidemiology, Laboratory and Health Information Systems Capacity Grant from the Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health in the amount of $359,464 with a grantor share of $359,464 (100%). The purpose of the grant is to provide public health testing and consultative services to the DHS/DPH and those local units of government authorized by DHS/DPH.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health to provide public health testing and consultative services; and
Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 08/01/17 to 07/31/2018 would cost $359,464 comprised of $359,464 (100%) grantor share; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of this grant from the DHS/DPH is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2017 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Grant:
