Whereas, The plaintiff, April Hoffman, C.I. File No. 1032-2014-3128, has filed a civil lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and various city employees seeking an unspecified amount in damages; and
Whereas, The plaintiff has agreed to settle this lawsuit against the city and its employees with the payment of $40,000.; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officials be and are hereby authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $40,000.00 payable to the order of the Trust Account of Rettko Law Offices SC in full and final settlement of all monetary damages sought in this lawsuit against the city and the defendant city employees, including statutory fees and costs, on receipt of a Settlement Agreement and General Release, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 0001-1490-S118-006300.
