Body
Whereas, The Water Quality Task Force was established by resolution Common Council File Number 160438 on July 26, 2016; and

Whereas, The Task Force was charged with exploring the problem of lead in the City’s drinking-water infrastructure and with investigating and making recommendations regarding additional ways to ensure the long-term health and safety of Milwaukee’s drinking water; and

Whereas, The Task Force recommended that the Health Department establish a semi-annual review process before the Common Council regarding blood lead testing of children in the city, and regarding the policies and actions taken by the Health Department with respect to children found with elevated blood lead levels; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department shall provide semi-annual reports to the Common Council regarding blood lead testing of children in the city; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the reports shall include the policies and actions taken by the Health Department with respect to children found with elevated blood lead levels; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Health Department, in conjunction with the Medical College of Wisconsin, shall include in the reports updates on both entities’ efforts to increase testing ...
