Title:

Substitute resolution related to an amendment to Resolution 161210 for modifications to the Byrne Crime Gun Intelligence Center Initiative grant budget.

Analysis:

This resolution is to modify the budget for the Byrne Crime Gun Intelligence Center Initiative grant from the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs in the amount of $1,000,000. The purpose of this initiative is to enhance and improve operations within the Milwaukee Police Department’s Crime Gun Intelligence Center. The primary change within the budget is the reallocation of the Services/Rental/Indirect Costs ($54,635) to the researcher (Police Foundation) budget line.  In addition, $42,414 was transferred to the Travel Budget (from Training), and Overtime was increased by $19,482 (from Indirect and Training).

Whereas, Resolution 161210 was adopted on 1/18/2017, and

 

Whereas, The budget for this Grant has changed since its acceptance on 1/18/2017, and

 

Whereas, It is requested that Resolution No. 161210 be amended to incorporate such budget changes to allow for the execution of the agency contracts, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that Resolution No. 161210 be amended to incorporate the revised budget for this grant
