This resolution authorizes the Office of the City Clerk to accept and expend up to $500,000 in contributions from the State of Wisconsin for the Milwaukee Initiative Network Education (MINE) Task Force to be used for the Building Occupational Skills for Success (BOSS) program.

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 161087 on January 18, 2017, establishing a Milwaukee Public Schools and City of Milwaukee Education Initiative, known as the Milwaukee Initiative Network Education (MINE) Task Force; and

Whereas, A major component of the MINE Task Force is the Building Occupational Skills for Success (BOSS) program; and

Whereas, The BOSS program emphasizes interactions between MPS students and community leaders by mixing traditional classroom learning with hands-on real world experiences; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Office of the City Clerk is authorized to accept up to $500,000 in contributions from the State of Wisconsin for the Milwaukee Initiative Network Education (MINE) Task Force to be used for the Building Occupational Skills for Success (BOSS) program; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon the receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is directed to establish a special account within the Office of the City Clerk’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it
