Analysis
This ordinance amends s. 309-1-2 of the code to reflect changes to the city’s charter relating to the appointment of the superintendent of water works.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 309-1-2 of the code is amended to read as follows:
309-1. Department of Public Works.
2. COMMISSIONER. The department shall be under the supervision of the commissioner of public works. The commissioner shall appoint the directors of the various divisions in the department, except the [[division]] >>divisions<< of infrastructure services >>and water works<<. The commissioner shall have supervision over the division directors and all department employes, except as otherwise provided by s. 8-07 >>and s. 14-12.5<< of the charter. The commissioner shall have charge and custody of all physical property of the city, other than records, not assigned to some other officer or employe.
