Analysis

This resolution authorizes the proper City officers to execute a Quit Claim Deed (QCD-2869) document conveying the sanitary and storm sewers located in vacated North 8^th Street between West Juneau Avenue and West Winnebago Street to MKE Hotel LLC, in the 4^th Aldermanic District. The sewers are being conveyed because they are no longer needed for public use.

Body

Whereas, North 8^th Street between West Juneau Avenue and West Winnebago Street was vacated on February 11, 2014 by Common Council File Number 061395; and

Whereas, The City owns a12-inch diameter sanitary sewer and a 15-inch diameter storm sewer in said vacated North 8^th Street; and

Whereas, The vacated lands are now owned by MKE Hotel LLC; and 

Whereas, Said sewers no longer serve the interest of the City; and

Whereas, MKE Hotel LLC has agreed to accept ownership of said sewers; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officials, including the DPW Commissioner, are hereby authorized: (i) to sign the Quit Claim Deed document (QCD-2869), in the form and substance submitted to this file (or in substantially the same form and substance as submitted, and to effectuate the intent of this resolution); and (ii) to cause the same to be recorded in the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds Office.
