Title
A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2017 offices and positions in the City Service.
Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:
Department of Administration, Assessor’s Office, Fire and Police Commission, Fire Department, Health Department, Department of Neighborhood Services, Police Department, Department of Public Works

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 160594 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under “Assessor’s Office, Systems and Administration Division”, delete one position of “College Intern” and add three positions of “College Intern (0.33 FTE)”.
Under “Fire and Police Commission”, delete on position of “Office Assistant II” and add one position of “Office Assistant II - Bilingual”.
Under “Health Department”, amend footnote “(GG)” to read as follows:
“(GG) Position may be partially funded by the Milwaukee Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer Awareness fund from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.”
Part 2. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 160594 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2017 - January 1, 2017):
Under “Fire Department, Support Services Bureau Decision Unit, Technical Services/Dispatch Division”, delete five positions of “Fire Dispatch Supervisor”, delete three positions of “Fire Equipment Dispatcher, add two positions of “Fire Dispatch Assistant Manager”, and six positions of “Fire Dispatcher - Senior”.
Under “Police Department, Investigations & Intelligence Bureau, Intelligence Fusion Center”, add one position of “Forensic Ballistics Specialist”.
Under “Information Technology Division”, delete five positions of “Network Coordinator - Senior” and add five positions of “IT Support Specialist - Senior”.
Under “Department of Public Works - Water Works, Technical Services”, delete one position of “Water Business Analyst Senior”, and add one position of “Water Systems Analyst - Senior”.
Under “Distribution, Organization, Field Operations”, delete one position of “Water Construction Coordinator (X)” and add one position of “Water Distribution Construction Manager (X)”.
Part 3. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 160594 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 8, 2017 - April 9, 2017):
Under “Department of Neighborhood Services, Administration Services”, delete one positions of “Housing Policy and Compliance Manager (X)” and add one position of “DNS Personnel Officer”.
Part 4. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 160594 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 9, 2017 - April 23, 2017):
Under “Department of Administration, Small Business Development Program”, delete one position of “Small Business Development Manager (A)(Y)” and add one position of “Small Business Development Director (A)(Y)”.
Part 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 6. The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2017 (January 1, 2017).
Part 7. The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 8, 2017 (April 9, 2017).
Part 8. The provisions of Part 4 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 9, 2017 (April 23, 2017).
The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
Part 9. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
