Title

Substitute resolution amending Common Council File Number 160698 relating to acceptance and funding of the Office of Violence Prevention Recast Milwaukee Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Analysis

This resolution amends Common Council File Number 160698 relative to the acceptance and funding of the Office of Violence Prevention Recast Milwaukee Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the amount of $1,040,565 with a grantor share of $1,000,000 (96%), and a City share of $40,565 (4%). The operating grant budget, which is attached to this file and incorporated by reference, sets forth the allocation of $816,783 in grantor share funds to various contractual service providers.

Body

Whereas, Common Council File Number 160698 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the Office of Violence Prevention Recast Milwaukee Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant program from 09/30/16 to 09/30/2017 would cost $1,040,565 comprised of $1,000,000 (96%) grantor share, and a City share of $40,565 (4%); and

 

Whereas, The Health Department, in coordination with the Office of Violence Prevention, has determined how the funds from the Recast Milwaukee Project Grant are to be allocated; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of the Office of Violence Prevention Recast Milwaukee Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is authorized, and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in s. 304-81 of the Code of Ordinances; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Operating Grant Budget for the Office of Violence Prevention Recast Milwaukee Project Grant for the 2016-17 project/program year, as attached to this file, is incorporated by reference; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That all standard “Resolved” clauses articulated in the resolution adopted by Common Council File Number 160698 shall remain applicable.
