Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Office of the City Clerk to accept up to $5,000 in contributions from various donors for Milwaukee’s celebration of Black History Month.
BODY:
Whereas, In 1976 as part of the United States Bicentennial, Black History Month was officially recognized by President Gerald Ford; and
Whereas, The Common Council annually participates in Black History Month events; and
Whereas, This year, the Common Council is honoring notable African-Americans who have who have made significant contributions to Milwaukee; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Office of the City Clerk is authorized to accept up to $5,000 in contributions for the celebration of Black History Month; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon the receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is directed to establish a special account within the Office of the City Clerk’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Special Purpose Account for Contribution, 0001-2110-0001-D001-006300, and the Estimated Revenue Account for Contributions, 0001-2110-0001-009850, to the Office of the City Clerk’s Special Account, 0001-1310-006300-DXXX and the Office of the City Clerk’s Estimated Revenue Account, 0001-1310-0001-009850, up to the amount of $5,000.
