Title
Resolution authorizing the issuance of a street occupancy permit to Findorff for demolition of the skywalk at East Michigan Street west of North Lincoln Memorial Drive and east of North Cass Street.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to Findorff allowing them to occupy the entire East Michigan Street west of North Lincoln Memorial Drive and east of North Cass Street.
Body
Whereas, Findorrf has been contracted to demolish the skywalk extending over East Michigan Street in coordination with the demolition of the Milwaukee County Transit Center at 909 East Michigan Street; and
Whereas, Findorff has requested to occupy the entire East Michigan Street extending 300 feet west of North Lincoln Memorial Drive from January 27, 2017 through February 5, 2017; and
Whereas, Findorff will be responsible to contact all affected property owners and businesses informing them of the closure of the street and the affected dates; and
Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the width of the right of way while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to issue an occupancy permit to Findorff allowing them to occupy the entire East Michigan Street west of North Lincoln Memorial Drive to a point 300 feet west from January 27, 2017 through February 5, 2017; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Findorff is also permitted to occupy the sidewalk area on East Michigan Street west of North Lincoln Memorial Drive to a point 300 feet west.
