Title
Resolution relating to acceptance of up to $1,000 in contributions by the Office of the City Clerk from the MKE Business Now Entrepreneurial Summit.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Office of the City Clerk to accept up to $1,000 in contributions from the MKE Business Now Entrepreneurial Summit to defray the cost of hosting the annual MKE Business Now Entrepreneurial Summit.
BODY:
Whereas, The City has participated in the annual MKE Business Now Entrepreneurial Summit for the last 7 years; and
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 160943 on January 18, 2017, designating January 28, 2017, as MKE Business Now Entrepreneurial Summit Day; and
Whereas, The MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit has successfully connected aspiring entrepreneurs with valuable city resources, business startup workshops and mentorship from established business professionals; and
Whereas, The MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit is held to support the growth of local entrepreneurship and help innovators stimulate economic development, neighborhood reinvestment and job creation; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Office of the City Clerk is authorized to accept up to $1,000 in contributions to defray the cost of hosting the annual summit; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon the receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is directed to establish a special account within the Office of the City Clerk’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Special Purpose Account for Contribution, 0001-2110-0001-D001-006300, and the Estimated Revenue Account for Contributions, 0001-2110-0001-009850, to the Office of the City Clerk’s Special Account, 0001-1310-...
