George Kolias Tulip Molded Plastics stated this project is overdesigned and it's an industrial area and they are opposed to the reconstruction. He stated this project will cost about $50,000-100,000 that hasn't been budgeted for. Jerrel Jones, Executive Director Riverworks BID #25 stated he is in favor of the project and the reconstruction is in the strategic plan. Ian Sustar 720-28 E Nash St stated he is willing to pay the assessement because it will improve the property and it's not an alley. Ann Van Dunk Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity stated all their vendors use that street and it is in bad shape. Mark Vasman 401 E Vienna stated he spent over $400,000 cleaning up the property to develop it for small businesses. Ald. Bohl moved to Hold to the Call of the Chair until a community meeting is held. Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions, determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct and levy special assessments for the following improvements:

2nd Aldermanic District

N. 70th St. - W. Capitol Dr. to W. Fiebrantz Ave. (ST211160166): Install traffic calming speed hump(s). (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $5,900; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $2,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $7,900. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016-2017 construction season.
