Title
Resolution authorizing the issuance of a street and alley occupancy permit to Benson Industries for work at the Northwestern Mutual Skywalk at North Van Buren Street north of East Wisconsin Avenue and south of East Mason Street.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to Benson Industries allowing them to occupy East Van Buren Street north of East Wisconsin Avenue and south of East Mason Street.
Body
Whereas, Benson Industries has been retained to install glass window panes on the proposed Northwestern Mutual skywalk at North Van Buren Street north of East Wisconsin Avenue and south of East Mason Street; and
Whereas, Benson Industries has requested to occupy the one parking lane and one traffic lane on North Van Buren Street for approximately three weeks during the periods of August 1 through 5, August 15 through 19 and August 22 through 26, and occupy the entire North Van Buren Street north of East Wisconsin Avenue and south of East Mason Street for a period of two days, August 13 and 14; and
Whereas, Benson Industries will be responsible to contact all affected property owners and businesses informing them of the partial and complete closures of the street and the affected dates; and
Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the width of the right of way while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to issue a permit to Benson industries allowing occupancy of the west 30 feet of East Van Buren Street north of East Wisconsin Avenue and south of East Mason Street during the periods of August 1 through 5, August 15 through 19 and August 22 through 26, and occupy the entire North Van Buren Street north of East Wisconsin Avenue and so...
