Analysis
This resolution authorizes the continued funding of the Office of Community Policing Services Community Policing Development Grant.

Body
Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 120560, adopted 9/25/12, authorized application for, acceptance and funding for the Office of Community Policing Services Community Policing Development Grant through funding from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing; and

Whereas, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81 states that the “carrying over of unexpended funds shall be limited to three years from the year in which the funds were appropriated. An operating grant exceeding this period shall be refunded through a separate resolution”; and

Whereas, This limitation applies to the continuation of the Office of Community Policing Services Community Policing Development Grant; and now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that continuation of the grant for the Office of Community Policing Services Community Policing Development Grant to be administered by the Police Department, is hereby authorized; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Police Department is authorized to continue the grant without further Common Council approval; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Police Department is authorized to expend, from the amount appropriated, sums for specified purposes in accordance with the previously approved ongoing budget for the program; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Police Department shall have the authority to continue transfers within aforementioned project budget as long as the amounts expended are in accordance with Grantor regulations; and, be it
