Whereas, The plaintiff, Prince Jacobs, Case No. 14-C-1016, has filed a civil rights lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and Jose Ramirez seeking an unspecified amount in damages; and
Whereas, The plaintiff has agreed to settle this lawsuit with the payment of $120,000 and the satisfaction of a judgment previously entered in favor of the city in the amount of $3028.05; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officials be and are hereby authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $120,000.00 payable to the order of the Client Trust Account of Nistler Law Office and to execute a satisfaction of judgment in the amount of $3028.05 in full and final settlement of all monetary damages sought in this lawsuit against the city, including statutory fees and costs, on receipt of a Release of Claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, with the amount of $120,000.00 to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 0001-1490-S118-006300.
