Title:
Resolution relative to acceptance, and funding of a Speed Enforcement 2016 grant.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a Speed Enforcement grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of State Patrol, Bureau of Transportation Safety in the amount of $149,999.99. The purpose of this grant is to detect and apprehend motor vehicle operators in areas with the largest number of crashes due to excess alcohol use or speed.

Body:
Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA #20.600, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for a Speed Enforcement grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of State Patrol, Bureau of Transportation Safety, and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 4/01/16 to 9/30/16 would cost $149,999.99 of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code Ordnances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2016 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: Speed Enforcement 2016 Project Grant:
