Minutes note: The licensee was not present. Assistant City Attorney Nick DeSiato stated there were eight undercover drug buys. Five of the buys occurred between January and May resulting in the purchase of cocaine. A search warrant was executed after the fifth buy when a considerable amount of cocaine and methamphetamine was recovered. The following day the police were notified that more drugs were being sold. Three more buys took place and another search warrant was executed on October 1st where cocaine was found throughout the premises. The buys were conducted by a confidential informant and a police officer. Every buy was confirmed and tested positive for cocaine or methamphetamine. The Department of Revenue participated in the search warrants, found violations of excise laws and confiscated three crates of alcohol the first time, and ninety-nine bottles the second time. The following individuals were present: Cpt. Wurth, Milwaukee Police Department Sgt. Tabiadon, Milwaukee Police Department PO Bill Esqueda Milwaukee Police Department State Patrol Officer Derek Bergum Agent Georgeann King, Department of Revenue Ald. Perez stated he is in support of the revocation. Ald. Puente moved approval of the revocation based upon City Attorney testimony. (Prevailed 5-0)

Whereas, The Licenses Committee received a notarized complaint from the Milwaukee Police Department requesting the revocation of the Class "B" Tavern and Public Entertainment licenses of J. Jesus Gamez for the premises at 1905 South 6th Street doing business as "Palomas Place"; and

 

Whereas, The Licenses Committee held an evidentiary hearing on January 5, 2016; and

 

Whereas, After considering the police report, the Committee found that enough evidence existed to justify a revocation of the  Class "B" Tavern and Public Entertainment licenses of J. Jesus Gamez for the premises at 1905 South 6th Street doing business as "Palomas Place"; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Class "B" Tavern and Public Entertainment licenses of J. Jesus Gamez for the premises at 1905 South 6th Street doing business as "Palomas Place" be revoked.
