Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Green Infrastructure Partnership Program grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) to accept and fund a Green Infrastructure Partnership Program grant from Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) in the amount of $220,000 with a city share of $110,000 and a grantor share of $110,000. The purpose of the project is to pilot the use of Silva Cell® integrated tree and stormwater management systems by installing 30 trees on Kinnickinnic Avenue between Becher Street and Morgan Avenue.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from MMSD to pilot the use of Silva Cell® integrated tree and stormwater management system by installing 30 trees on Kinnickinnic Avenue between Becher Street and Morgan Avenue; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 1/7/2014 to 8/1/2015 would cost $220,000 of which, $110,000 (50%) would be provided by the city and $110,000 (50%) would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2015 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled Green Infrastructure Partnership Grant:
