Analysis

This resolution authorizes an easement for City-owned property according to conditions outlined in the easement.

Body

Whereas, Staff from the Department of Public Works and the City Attorney's office have met with representatives from All Hands Boatworks, Inc. and negotiated the terms of an easement for a portion of the property at 1313 West Mt. Vernon Avenue, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council file; and

Whereas, The proposed easement permits All Hands Boatworks, Inc. to construct a storage shed and program activities in consideration of it assuming maintenance responsibilities of the land; and

Whereas, The proposed easement will facilitate greater use of and activities along the river, ensure continued public access, and establish maintenance requirements while helping to reduce municipal expenditures; now, therefore be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the easement with All Hands Boatworks, Inc. for a portion of the property at 1313 W Mt. Vernon Avenue is approved; and be it

Further Resolved, That the proper City officials including the Commissioner of Public Works are authorized to execute the easement with All Hands Boatworks, Inc; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Attorney's office is authorized to make minor modifications to said easement that are consistent with the intent and purpose of this resolution.
