Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement with Energy Exchange, Inc. which authorizes the City of Milwaukee to participate in a project known as the 6th Street Urban Orchard Project.
Body
Whereas, Milwaukee County applied for and received a grant from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) in an amount not to exceed $99,400 to undertake a project known as the 6th Street Urban Orchard Project; and
Whereas, The project will be undertaken by Energy Exchange, Inc. on lands owned by Milwaukee County at 4000 South 6th Street; and
Whereas, Reimbursement from MMSD will occur after the project is complete in 2015; and
Whereas, Milwaukee County has requested the City to participate as the sponsor for the grant; and
Whereas, Milwaukee County entered into an agreement with Energy Exchange, Inc. authorizing it to do the work and agreeing to pay Energy Exchange, Inc. the proceeds from the MMSD grant once the project is completed; and
Whereas, Energy Exchange and Milwaukee County have agreed to assign Energy Exchange’s rights to reimbursement from the MMSD grant to the City to pay back the $99,400 provided by the City for the project; and
Whereas, The attached agreement authorizes the City to provide $99,400 in funds toward the project in exchange for Energy Exchange assigning its interest in the reimbursable MMSD grant to the City; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to execute on the City’s behalf the attached agreement which obligates the City of Milwaukee to fund the reimbursable portion of the 6th Street Urban Orchard...
