Whereas, The applicant is requesting permission to construct and maintain a timber retaining wall in the public right-of-way; and
Whereas, Said retaining wall may only legally encroach into the public right-of-way by granting of a special privilege resolution adopted by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that Charles E. Walker, P.O. Box 1205, Milwaukee, WI 53201 is hereby granted the following special privilege:
To construct and maintain a 10-inch wide, timber retaining wall at the southwest corner of North 23rd Street and West Hampton Avenue. Said retaining wall, which projects 2 feet 3 inches into the west, 14-foot sidewalk area of North 23rd Street, commences at a the southline of West Hampton Avenue and extends south 51 feet 3 inches. The retaining wall also projects 11 inches into the south, 12-foot wide sidewalk area of West Hampton Avenue. The West Hampton Avenue sections of retaining wall commence at a point approximately 2 feet east of the westline of North 23rd Street; extend 22 feet 11 inches west; then breaks for a 5-foot 8-inch gap; and, then, extends an additional 21 feet 8 inches to the west. Total length of the retaining wall is 95 feet 10 inches.
Said above-mentioned retaining wall shall be used, kept and maintained to the satisfaction of the Commissioners of Public Works and Department of Neighborhood Services. All necessary permits shall have been obtained prior to the granting of this speci...
