Title
Resolution directing a transfer of funds from the Capital Improvements-Advance Planning Fund to a subaccount for comprehensive and redevelopment planning, land use analysis, GIS mapping and zoning activities.
Analysis
This resolution transfers $150,000 from the Capital Improvements-Advance Planning Fund account into a subaccount to provide consultant assistance on market studies, zoning and land use analysis, GIS-funded activities, funding of graduate students, as well as other miscellaneous expenses as the need arises.
Body
Whereas, The Department of City Development ("DCD") continues work on land use and zoning analysis, comprehensive and redevelopment planning and GIS activities; and
Whereas, Technical assistance in these planning activities has often been provided by outside consultants; and
Whereas, Funds are necessary to provide for such consultant services as the need arises; and
Whereas, Funds are additionally necessary to provide for GIS mapping contracts and graduate interns to provide technical support; and
Whereas, The current unencumbered balance in the Planning Studies-Economic Development Subaccount is insufficient to cover anticipated 2014 needs; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is directed to transfer the amount of $150,000 from the Capital Improvements-Advance Planning Fund, Account No. 1910-UR01213000A, to Account No. 1910-UR01211100, to be used by DCD, as the need may arise, to provide technical support and analyses and land use policy development; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of DCD, or designee, is directed to enter into such contracts and agreements, as necessary, to accomplish the intent and purpose of this resolution.
