Title
Resolution approving the Land Disposition Report for the Redevelopment Authority vacant lot at 2212 West Brown Street for sale to Impact Milwaukee, LLC for green space, in the 15th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution will permit the Redevelopment Authority to convey property according to the conditions in a Land Disposition Report.
Body
Whereas, Impact Milwaukee, LLC ("Impact") acquired the tax-deed house at 2220 West Brown Street from the City of Milwaukee and is making a substantial investment to rehabilitate the house as affordable housing on a rent-to-own basis; and
 
Whereas, Impact's house adjoins a vacant lot owned by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee ("Authority") that is suitable for assemblage with Impact's property to provide expanded green space for its tenants and a future owner; and
 
Whereas, Impact has offered to acquire the Authority's lot for $1.00 and assemble the lot with its adjacent property; and
 
Whereas, On May 15, 2014, the Authority held a Public Hearing on the proposed sale as required by Wisconsin Statutes; and
 
Whereas, Pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes and as a condition precedent to the sale, lease or transfer of land, the Authority submits a Land Disposition Report, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, describing the terms and conditions of the proposed sale; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Land Disposition Report dated May 15, 2014, with respect to the proposed sale of the following property is approved.
