Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a Dr. Pepper Snapple Group - KaBOOM Let's Play City Construction grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Infrastructure (Facilities Section) to apply for, accept and fund a Let's Play City Construction Grant from Dr. Pepper Snapple Group - KaBOOM in the amount of $85,274 with a city share of $65,274 and a grantor share of $20,000. The purpose of the project is to remove and replace outdated play equipment at the DPW play area located at 90th Street & Bender Road.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from Dr. Pepper Snapple Group - KaBOOM to remove and replace outdated play equipment at the DPW play area located at 90th Street & Bender Road; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/4/2013 to 9/10/2014 would cost $85,274 of which, $65,274 (77%) would be provided by the city and $20,000 (23%) would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to Dr. Pepper Snapple Group - KaBOOM is authorized and the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2014 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled Let's Play City Construction:

2. Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant Levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Department of Public Works-Infrastructure Division (Facilities Section), which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget.
