Title
Resolution relative to application, acceptance, and funding of a 2007 and 2008 Vehicle Miles of Travel Monitoring Grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to apply for, accept and fund a 2007 and 2008 Vehicle Miles of Travel Monitoring Grant project from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in the amount of $77,145. The purpose of the project is to collect traffic count data to monitor traffic flow patterns in the City of Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to provide expanded monitoring of roadway usage levels and travel characteristics in the City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008 would cost $77,145 and would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller are here by authorized to make application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation through execution of the agreement attached and incorporated in this resolution; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit Funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2007 and 2008 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects, Fund the following amounts for the program/project titled 2007 and 2008 Vehicle Miles of Travel Monitoring Project:
