Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works to use $94,685.36 of the bequest from the estate of David John Dombrowski for the Dombrowski Landscape Management Training Initiative.
Body
Whereas, David John Dombrowski was a dedicated employee of the City of Milwaukee; and

Whereas, Common Council Resolution Number 110946, adopted on July 6, 2012, authorized the Department of Public Works to accept a bequest from the estate of David John Dombrowski; and

Whereas, The Dombrowski Landscape Management Training Initiative will train a total of 30 people for 17 weeks; and

Whereas, This initiative will train participants in grounds maintenance, including small trees, shrub and brush removal, as well as sidewalk snow and ice removal, and general landscape maintenance on City-owned foreclosed and vacant properties; and

Whereas, Participants will have the opportunity to earn multiple credentials, including a Commercial Driver’s License Class B with airbrakes, Tree Care Industry Association Tree Care Academy Grounds Operations Specialist, Wisconsin Pesticide Application License and CPR certification; and

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works is authorized to expend $94,685.36 of the bequest from the estate of David John Dombrowski to pay trainee wages under the Dombrowski Landscape Training Initiative; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the appropriate City officers are directed to establish the necessary subaccounts in accordance with generally-accepted accounting practices and City guidelines necessary to maintain the fiscal control to carry out the intent and purpose of this resolutio...
