Title:
Resolution relative to the application, acceptance and funding of an Advanced Training Grant.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to apply for, accept, and fund an Advanced Training grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice, Training and Standards Bureau, in the amount of $169,350, with a city share of $-0- and a grantor share of $169,350. The purpose of this project is to provide advanced training to members of the Milwaukee Police Department.

Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice, Training and Standards Bureau, for an Advanced Training grant; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007 would cost $169,350, of which $-0- would be provided by the city and $169,350 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice, Training and Standards Bureau is authorized and that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Comptroller of the City of Milwaukee is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2006 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the Advanced Training Grant:
