This original resolution amends Common Council File 051578 relative to the Covering Kids Grant. The purpose of the project is to assist low-income families in obtaining medical insurance and food stamps and to develop strategies to reach out to families of school children.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File 051578 authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept, and fund a Covering Kids Grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through Community Advocates to assist low income families in obtaining medical insurance and food stamps and to develop strategies to reach out to families of school children from 02/01/06 to 07/31/07. This grant provided for a Grantor Share total amount of $29,684; and
Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is increased by $23,316; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through Community Advocates is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2006 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Covering Kids Grant
