Analysis
This resolution will permit the City of Milwaukee to acquire and dedicate property for extension of West Juneau Avenue.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee owns the property at 5230 West State Street that is used by the Department of Public Works ("DPW") for the Forestry Yard and salting operations; and

Whereas, DPW needs to improve site access and requested that the Department of City Development ("DCD") assist in negotiations with the adjoining property owner to acquire land to extend West Juneau Avenue from 50th Street to the DPW property; and

Whereas, DCD has negotiated an Offer to Sell with RHF Enterprises LLC in the amount of $19,000 to acquire a portion of the properties at 5200 and 5210 West State Street that is needed for the right of way and to replace certain site improvements that will be displaced by said acquisition; and

Whereas, Funds are available in DPW's Street Resurface and Reconstruction Account to purchase said property and to construct the extension of West Juneau Avenue; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Offer to Sell negotiated with RHF Enterprises LLC is accepted; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of DCD, or her designee, is authorized to execute the Offer to Sell on behalf of the City of Milwaukee and to take all necessary steps to effectuate closing including acceptance of necessary easements; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon acquisition, the land shall be dedicated as public right of way.
