Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public works to enter into consultant contracts on an as needed basis, especially in the architectural, mechanical, environmental, and electrical disciplines, to assist in expediting the design of 2002 Capital Improvements Projects.

Body

Whereas, The design of 2002 Capital Improvements Projects funded through the City's Capital Improvements Projects funded through the City's Capital Budget should be completed as expeditiously as possible to meet the needs of the using agencies and to minimize the construction cost due to inflation; and

Whereas, Due to the present design workload of the Buildings and Fleet Division, especially in the architectural, mechanical, environmental, and electrical disciplines, it would be desirable to obtain the services of outside consultants, on an as needed basis, to assist in expediting the design of 2002 Capital Projects; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public works is hereby authorized and directed, as being in the best interests of the City, to obtain the services of outside consultants, on an as needed basis, to assist in expediting the design of 2002 Capital Improvements Projects; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the cost of the consultant services shall be charged against the funds already budgeted for the design and construction of each respective project.
