Title:
Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a COPS Community Policing Development STOP Program grant.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a COPS Community Policing Development STOP Program grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services in the amount of $48,556 with a city share of $-0- and a grantor share of $48,556. The purpose of this grant is to fund expenditures in support of the Milwaukee Police Department’s STOP program.

Body:
Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA #16.710, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 09/01/13 to 08/31/15 would cost $48,556, of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, that the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2013 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: COPS STOP Program Grant
