- ANALYSIS - This resolution approves an agreement between the City of Milwaukee, the Brady Street Business Improvement District (BID #11), and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. The agreement addresses the improvement and maintenance of MMSD property adjacent to the Holton Street bridge between Brady Street and East Pearson Street. The site will be improved as a public plaza connecting the two streets and will also be the first step in a planned link between Brady Street and the growing residential community in the Beer Line redevelopment area. In sum, the City would contribute a total of $42,500 toward the project from Department of Public Works, Department of City Development and Block Grant sources. MMSD would contribute $26,000, provide a public access easement and maintain the plaza. BID #11 would contribute $17,500 plus raise additional funds and maintain the plaza's special features.

Whereas, The Brady Street Business Improvement District and the City of Milwaukee have worked together in recent years to bring about dramatic improvements to the Brady Street area; and

Whereas, An existing pedestrian corridor connects Brady Street to East Pearson Street along the eastern edge of the Holton Street bridge; and

Whereas, This corridor (referred to as the Brady Street Plaza) is owned by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District; and

Whereas, The Brady Street Business Improvement District (BID #11), MMSD, and the City of Milwaukee desire to work together to enhance the corridor as the first step in creating a pedestrian and bicycle connection to the emerging Beer...
