Title

Analysis

This resolution amends Common Council File Number 120313 by approving a revised program description for one of the 6 components of the Milwaukee Jobs Act - Transitional Jobs Program, namely, the Common Council Neighborhood Ambassador Program.

Body

Whereas, On July 24, 2012, the Common Council adopted File Number 120313, a resolution approving the Milwaukee Jobs Act - Transitional Jobs Program; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Jobs Act - Transitional Jobs Program is a 6-part initiative to create jobs for Milwaukee residents; and

Whereas, One component of the Transitional Jobs Program is the Common Council Neighborhood Ambassador Program, a Department of City Development-administered program that will award grant funds to business improvement districts to start or expand neighborhood ambassador programs similar to Downtown BID No. 21's "Clean Sweep" initiative; and

Whereas, Exhibit A to Common Council File Number 120313, which was attached to and made a part of that file, includes detailed descriptions of the 6 components of the Transitional Jobs Program, including the Common Council Neighborhood Ambassador Program; and

Whereas, Subsequent to Common Council adoption of File Number 120313, the Department of City Development created a revised description of the Common Council Neighborhood Ambassador Program that allows for more effective and successful implementation of the program; and

Whereas, The revised Common Council Neighborhood Ambassador Program description is attached to and made a part of this Common Council file; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council File Number 120313 is amended by replacing Section III (Common Council's Neighborhood Ambassador Program and The Office of Environmental Sustainability's Neighborhood Environmental Ambassadors) with the attached Exhibit A.
