Analysis
This resolution authorizes the City Comptroller to transfer funds to the new and/or previously established subaccounts for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and City of Milwaukee construction and preliminary engineering funds being $756,215. The City of Milwaukee’s Non-Assessable share is $417,115; the Grantor Non-Reimbursable share is $179,100; the City Sewer Maintenance Fund share is $40,000 and the Department of City Development Non-Assessable share is $120,000.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council has previously adopted resolutions authorizing the City Comptroller to transfer funds to various State and/or Federal Aid, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) project subaccounts for preliminary engineering and construction; and
Whereas, Additional planning and review during the design stage and additional work during the construction stage have resulted in increased costs charged against the projects; and
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements ;and
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements; and
Whereas, Additional funds are, therefore, necessary for the estimated remaining Wisconsin Department of Transportation and City of Milwaukee preliminary engineering and construction costs for the projects:

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts; and, be it
Further Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is directed to transfer the additional sum of $120,000 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund Account No. 9990-ST0408000A to Account No. 1910-ST04084800 for the streetscape work in West National Avenue between South Layton Boulevard and South 39th Street; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller, in conjunction with the Commissioner of the Department of City Development (DCD), is directed to establish any and all subaccounts in accord with generally accepted accounting practices and follow the city guidelines necessary to maintain the fiscal control to carry out the intent and purpose of this resolution; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the city officials, departments, boards, agencies and commissions are directed to assist and cooperate regarding all project activities.
