Title

Resolution amending File Number 070508 relating to acceptance and expenditure of private contributions to the Fire Department.

Analysis

This resolution amends File Number 070508 to define the Milwaukee Fire Department “Special Teams” as the Hazardous Materials Response Team, Heavy Urban Rescue Team and Dive Team and the Boat Pilots.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council adopted File Number 941142 on November 29, 1994, and amended via adoption of File Numbers 970233 on June 3, 1997, File Number 010844 on May 20, 2005, and File Number 070508 on July 31, 2007 authorizing the Milwaukee Fire Department to accept and spend up to $600,000 in private donations for the purpose of maintaining special teams training programs; and

Whereas, Prior resolutions did not adequately describe the composition of the Milwaukee Fire Department’s “special teams” program; and

Whereas, Various special teams have completed or plan to engage in reimbursable trainings; now, therefore be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that File Number 070508 is amended to define “special teams” to include firefighting personnel assigned to the Hazardous Materials Response Team, Heavy Urban Rescue Team, Dive Team and Boat Pilots.
