Minutes note: Warren Jones, Travaux, Inc.’s, Vice President of Construction, stated that staff is recommending awarding Dodge and Sons Builders LLC (Fond Du Lac, WI), the contract for gypsum board assemblies. Dodge and Sons Builders was the sole respondent for this bid and has satisfactorily performed for the Housing Authority in the past. He noted their full understanding of the scope of work required. Dodge and Sons is a certified Veteran Business Enterprise in the State of Wisconsin and has not identified a need to subcontract or hire at this time. Mr. Jones responded to Commissioners’ questions regarding longer timeframes to allow for responding to bids.

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (Housing Authority) solicited sealed bids by Official Notice Number 58124 during the period January 26, 2024 through February 23, 2024 for Gypsum Board Assemblies for Single-Family Market-Rate Townhomes Phase 5C-1 at Westlawn Gardens Phase 2; and

WHEREAS, one (1) sealed bid was received by the deadline of 2:00 (CST) on February 23, 2024; and

WHEREAS, the sealed bid was received and publicly opened on February 23, 2024, during which the bidding procedure was conducted in compliance with the requirements of local, state, and federal regulations; and

WHEREAS, Dodge and Sons Builders LLC, a qualified and competent bidder, submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $289,000.00; therefore, be it,

RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Housing Authority that they hereby authorize and approve accepting the bid of and entering into a contract with Dodge and Sons Builders LLC for Gypsum Board Assemblies for Single-Family Market-Rate Townhomes Phase 5C-1 at Westlawn Gardens Phase 2; and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that funds for these services will come from the State of Wisconsin American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and Housing Authority Non-Federal sources; and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper officers of the Housing Authority be and hereby are authorized and directed to properly execute said contract for and on behalf of the Housing Authority; and, be it
