TITLE
Resolution authorizing the issuance of a street occupancy permit to KPH Construction as construction manager for the Federal Court House roofing project at 613 North Jackson Street allowing occupancy for 32 feet of the entire roadway of North Jackson Street from East Michigan Street to a point 120 feet north.
ANALYSIS
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to KPH Construction allowing them to close 32 feet of North Jackson Street from East Michigan Street to a point 120 feet north.
BODY
Whereas, KPH Construction is acting agent as the construction manager for the roof replacement project of the Federal Court House project; and
Whereas, KPH Construction has requested permission to occupy 32 feet of the roadway (all southbound lanes); and
Whereas, A large crane is required to perform the demolition and installation of the new roof system, the dimensions of the crane are 60 feet long and 30 feet wide (including the outriggers), and the length of the boom of the crane is 165 feet; and
Whereas, The most ideal location to situate the crane is on North Jackson Street due to the proximity to the roof that is being replaced; and
Whereas, The street closure is expected to take place in June and to last about three (3) months; and
Whereas, North Jackson Street is a one-way southbound traffic and that one travel lane shall be maintained in the “parking” lane of the roadway at all times; and
Whereas, An additional lane will be made available for during the PM rush hour; and
Whereas, KPH Construction shall be responsible for all required traffic control in accordance with City requirements and permits; and
Whereas, KPH Construction will notify, in writing, all owners of affected and adjacent properties of the intended work and schedule; and
