Title

Resolution authorizing a sidewalk replacement project in the eighth and tenth aldermanic districts.

Analysis

To provide the necessary authority for sidewalk repairs in the eighth (8th) tenth (10th) aldermanic districts.

Body

Whereas, It is necessary and in the public interest to replace those sidewalk stones which are cracked, broken, out of grade or otherwise a hazard to pedestrians; and

 

Whereas, It is proposed that sidewalk replacement work be done in the following locations at the indicated cost:

 

West Burnham Street, South Layton Boulevard, West Lincoln Avenue and South 35th Street in the eighth (8th) aldermanic district, Account No. ST230100136;

 

West Blue Mound Road, West City Limits, Menomonee River and US Highway 41 in the tenth (10th) aldermanic district, Account No. ST230100136.

 

Whereas, Funds have been encumbered and thus set aside for the proposed public improvement; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be, and is hereby authorized and directed to proceed to do the above described sidewalk replacement work, and the City Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to transfer $600,000.00 from Account No. 0333-ST230090000 and $450,000.00 from Account No. 0330-ST230090000, to 0333-ST230100136 and 0330-ST230100136; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the proper City Departments take such action as is required of them to assess the abutting properties, and collect such assessment in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
