Title
Resolution authorizing the application, acceptance and funding of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Port Security Grant from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security through the Community Development Grants Administration.
Analysis
This resolution allows the City of Milwaukee to accept the amount of $423,773 from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Port Security Grant (ARRA PSGP).
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant funds from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security in the amount of $423,773; and
Whereas, The following activities will be covered by this grant: Marine Domain Awareness in the amount of $160,688; and Improvised Explosive Detection in the amount of $263,085; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 09/01/2009 through 08/31/2012 would cost $423,773, which would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Community Development Grants Administration shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2009 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled: “2009 American Reinvestment and Recovery Port Security Grant Program”:
