This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of various items of furniture from the Internal Revenue Service.
Body:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation, and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, The Internal Revenue Service has offered to donate furniture for use by the Milwaukee Police Department; and
Whereas, This furniture consists of 8 workstations, 6 chairs, 2 work surfaces, 4 overhead flipper storage units, 1 conference table, 6 conference chairs and 4 file cabinets; and
Whereas, This furniture will be used by the Suspicious Activity Report Review Team Task Force; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept this donation of furniture; and, be it
Further Resolved, that such authority to accept donations for said purpose shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
