Title:
Resolution naming the Commissioner of Public Works as the authorized representative for the City of Milwaukee for the purpose of filing Safe Drinking Water Loan Fund applications with the Department of Natural Resources.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to be the City of Milwaukee’s representative for the purpose of submitting applications to the Department of Natural Resources’ Safe Drinking Water Loan Fund.
Body:
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ Safe Drinking Water Loan Fund program provides loans at a reduced market rate for the purposes of building, upgrading, or replacing water supply infrastructure to protect public health and address federal and state safe drinking water requirements; and
Whereas, It is the desire of the City of Milwaukee, a municipal corporation, to file applications for state financial assistance for a drinking water system under the Safe Drinking Water Loan Fund program, which is a part of the Wisconsin Environmental Improvement Fund; and
Whereas, It is necessary to designate a representative for filing the required applications; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of The City of Milwaukee, that effective April 1, 2009, the Commissioner of Public Works is designated as the authorized representative for the City of Milwaukee for the purpose of filing applications for the Safe Drinking Water Loan Fund, and that the Commissioner is further authorized to do all things necessary in connection with said applications.
