Title

Resolution directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute two (2) agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation regarding the installation and maintenance of bicycle lanes and crosswalks in West Forest Home Avenue (STH 24) between South 68th Street and South 45th Street.

Analysis

This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to enter into two (2) agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation where the City agrees to maintain the pavement markings and the WisDOT agrees to install the pavement markings for bicycle lanes and crosswalks in West Forest Home Avenue (STH 24) between South 68th Street and South 45th Street.

Body

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has scheduled the paving of West Forest Home Avenue (STH 24) between South 68th Street and South 45th Street; and

 

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has agreed to install crosswalks and bicycle lanes in the portion of the project within the City of Milwaukee; and

 

Whereas,  Pursuant to State Statutes, the crosswalks and bicycle lanes must be maintained by the local authority, i.e. the City of Milwaukee; and

 

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has prepared documents where the City agrees to maintain the pavement markings and the WisDOT agrees to install the pavement markings, copies of which are attached to this resolution; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is directed to execute these two (2) documents.
